A quick debrief of my work in my lab, including accomplishments, projects, feats, and learning experiences.
The core distribution backbone of my lab, all switching and wireless connectivity is handled by UniFi equipment.
Providing VoIP connectivity inside the lab, built on UniFi's EA Talk Touch and Flex Phones. A very bleeding-edge project in the lab, and one of my newer projects!
A web database for storing, locating, and maintaing my receipts. I've grown up saving my receipts just in case I need them, and recently I've digitalized them.
The new home of all of my data, virtualization, and etc. Centralizing all of my operations to one box, quietly and effectively.
An amazingly simple, yet effective way to filter web traffic on my network via DNS queries. A tool for blocking ads on the DNS level.
Some of my favorite passion-projects.
Focusing on the revival, reuse, and implementation of Cisco Meraki MC74 VoIP Phones from the ground up.
Retired Lab Projects
The ones that didn't make the cut...
My alternative to Google Drive, I use it to store and share files with my colleagues. Essentially the beginning of my labbing experience.
ESXi / vCenter:
The foundation of my lab environment, allowing me to cram as many projects as possible onto the little hardware I have.
The bread and butter of my lab, sure it's from 2012 and super outdated, but I don't care. It was cheap and runs most, if not everything I've thrown at it so far.
The centralized point of storage in my lab, sub-hosting my Plex, NextCloud, and Kamanga VMs and providing SMB shares for desktop clients.
OctoPrint / 3D Printing:
A web-based graphical interface, as well as API to connect to applications and software for my Ender 3 Pro. One of my newer additions to my lab.
A way to gather, interpret, and display data onto a easily readible web-based interface. Useful for monitoring my lab from one centralized display.
A centralized dashboard for controlling all the smarthome devices on my network with custom integrations including Plex, Tile, etc.
A dashboard for monitoring all of the services and devices in my lab via SNMP.
Monitoring is based on pings and special agents.
